Terms of Service

Welcome to Sit Sababa. These terms govern your use of our house- and pet-sitting marketplace. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. The service is currently free of charge.

1. The service

Sit Sababa connects home owners who need someone to care for their home and pets with sitters willing to do so, typically in exchange for free accommodation. We operate a concierge-style marketplace: our team reviews listings and sitter profiles before they go live, and the owner chooses which applicant to confirm. We are a platform — we are not a party to the arrangement between an owner and a sitter, we do not employ sitters, and we do not process payments between members.

2. Accounts & eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the service. You agree to provide accurate, truthful information — including your name, contact details, listing details, and profile content — and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One person per account; accounts are not transferable.

3. Vetting & verification

Our team reviews sitter profiles and home listings before publication, and offers an optional verification process for sitters (phone check, references, ID document check). Verification is an assistance measure, not a guarantee: we cannot and do not warrant the conduct of any member. Always use your own judgment, meet or speak before confirming, and read reviews.

4. Home owners' responsibilities

Owners must describe their home, pets, and expectations accurately, disclose anything a sitter reasonably needs to know (pet behaviour, medical needs, house quirks, who else may access the home), leave emergency contact details, and ensure the home is safe and habitable. Your exact address and contact details stay hidden until you confirm a sitter — confirming shares them with that sitter.

5. Sitters' responsibilities

Sitters must present themselves truthfully, honour confirmed commitments, care for the home and pets responsibly and in line with the owner's instructions, and promptly inform the owner of any significant problem. Cancelling a confirmed sit should be a last resort — repeated cancellations may lead to removal from the platform.

6. Reviews & content

After a completed sit, both sides may review each other. Reviews are double-blind (hidden until both are in, or until a publication window passes) and must be honest and respectful. You may not post unlawful, misleading, or abusive content anywhere on the service. We may moderate, hide, or remove content that violates these terms.

7. Liability

The arrangement between an owner and a sitter is between them alone. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sit Sababa is not liable for property damage, injury to pets or people, theft, cancellation, or any loss arising from a sit or from reliance on information provided by members. We recommend owners check their home and pet insurance covers house sitters. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

8. Suspension, termination & changes

We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, harm other members, or misuse the platform. You may delete your account at any time from account settings. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law & contact
