Terms of Service
Effective and last updated: July 22, 2026 (version 2)
These terms govern your use of Sit Sababa. By creating an account, accepting these terms during registration, or continuing to use the service, you agree to them. The service is free at launch; Sit Sababa does not currently charge members or process payments between them.
1. The platform service
Sit Sababa lets owners publish house sits, lets approved sitters apply or respond to invitations, supports member messaging, and lets an owner approve one applicant to create a confirmed match. Our team reviews listings and sitter profiles before publication and may moderate activity. The owner—not Sit Sababa—selects the sitter. We do not supervise a sit, take possession of a home or animal, employ sitters, or process payments between members. If paid platform features are introduced later, their price and additional consumer terms will be shown before any charge.
2. The direct agreement between members
A confirmed match creates a direct arrangement only between the owner and sitter. They should agree in writing on dates, pet and home-care instructions, medicines and veterinary authority, access and keys, cameras or recording devices, other occupants or visitors, expenses, emergencies, insurance, cancellation, and handover. Sit Sababa does not set or enforce those terms. A match does not create employment, agency, partnership, tenancy, or a service contract with Sit Sababa.
3. Accounts & eligibility
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter an agreement. Provide complete, accurate, current information; use one personal, non-transferable account; keep credentials secure; and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless caused by our own breach. You may not impersonate another person or evade a suspension.
4. Vetting & verification
Review, approval, phone checks, references, ID checks, status labels, and reviews are limited trust signals—not background checks, guarantees, endorsements, insurance, or predictions of conduct. Information can be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or fraudulent, and we do not physically inspect every person, home, or animal. Each member must make their own checks and decision.
5. Home owners' responsibilities
Owners must have lawful authority to offer the sit and must accurately describe the home, animals, dates, duties, and conditions. Before confirmation, disclose material risks including animal behaviour, bites or aggression, illness and medication, hazards, accessibility limits, cameras or recording devices, renovations, shared occupancy, and anyone who may enter. Provide a safe and habitable home, suitable supplies, emergency and veterinary contacts, clear authority for urgent care and expenses, lawful instructions, and any insurance the owner considers necessary. Exact address, contact details, and handover notes are shared only after a confirmed match.
6. Sitters' responsibilities
Sitters must describe their identity, experience, availability, limitations, and intended companions truthfully; independently assess whether the sit is suitable; follow lawful care and security instructions; protect the home, animals, keys, access codes, and private information; and report significant problems promptly. No guest or additional person may enter or stay without the owner's prior express permission. In an emergency, seek appropriate local or veterinary help first. A confirmed sit should be cancelled only when reasonably necessary and with immediate notice.
7. Safety, insurance & emergencies
Each member is responsible for identity and suitability checks, video calls or meetings, insurance, travel arrangements, emergency plans, and deciding whether to proceed. Members should verify that relevant home, contents, pet, health, travel, vehicle, and liability coverage applies. Sit Sababa is not an emergency service and supplies no insurance or protection plan. Contact emergency services, police, a veterinarian, or another appropriate authority when immediate help is needed, then notify us through the reporting channel.
8. Reviews & content
You retain ownership of content you submit and confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to share it. You grant Sit Sababa a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, adapt for display, moderate, and publish that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the service. Reviews become available after a completed match and are currently published when both parties submit. Content and reviews must be honest, relevant, respectful, lawful, and must not expose another person's private or sensitive information.
9. Prohibited use
Do not use the service for fraud, theft, harassment, threats, discrimination, unlawful surveillance, privacy violations, animal abuse or neglect, unauthorized commercial advertising, scraping, security testing without permission, circumvention of access controls, impersonation, unlawful content, infringement, or any activity that endangers a person, animal, property, or the service. Do not ask for or publish exact addresses, contact details, identity documents, access codes, or handover information outside the protected workflow.
10. Moderation & enforcement
We may investigate reports, request information, remove or restrict content, limit features, cancel or reopen a match where the product permits, suspend an account, or close it when we reasonably believe these terms or the law were breached or a safety, privacy, security, legal, or operational risk exists. Where practical and appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to respond; urgent risk, fraud, security incidents, or legal orders may require immediate action. Moderation does not make us responsible for members or sits.
11. Member disputes
Owners and sitters are responsible for resolving disputes arising from their direct arrangement. We may, but are not required to, receive reports, preserve available records, ask questions, restrict an account, or facilitate voluntary communication. We are not a court, arbitrator, insurer, or emergency service; we do not promise a result, recovery, reimbursement, or compensation. This does not limit any right to contact police, emergency services, regulators, or a court.
12. Liability
The service is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, that content or member information is accurate, that a member is suitable or safe, that a match will occur, or that a sit will proceed or achieve any result. Subject to the non-excludable responsibilities stated in the notice above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, Sit Sababa is not liable for member conduct or for indirect, consequential, special, or loss-of-opportunity damages arising from use of the platform or a sit. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory rights or liability that Israeli law does not permit us to exclude.
13. Responsibility for your breach
To the extent permitted by law, you will reimburse Sit Sababa for reasonable losses, liabilities, and external costs resulting from a third-party claim caused by your unlawful act, your material breach of these terms, or content you submitted without the required rights. We will give reasonable notice of the claim and a reasonable opportunity to participate in the defence. This clause does not apply to loss caused by Sit Sababa or to the extent prohibited by law.
14. Suspension, termination & changes
You may request account deletion from account settings when you have no confirmed or active match. Deletion removes or anonymizes information as described in the Privacy Policy, but does not erase another member's history or records we must reasonably retain for safety, disputes, security, audit, or law. Rights and obligations that arose before closure survive where their nature requires it. We may update these terms prospectively; material changes will be announced reasonably in advance, and if you do not accept them you must stop using the service.
15. Israeli law, mandatory rights & contact
Israeli law governs these terms. Disputes with Sit Sababa may be brought before the competent courts in Israel, subject to any mandatory venue or consumer rule that cannot be changed by contract. Nothing here removes a mandatory right under privacy, consumer, standard-contract, capacity, tort, or other applicable law, or the right to contact the Privacy Protection Authority, Consumer Protection and Fair Trade Authority, police, or another competent authority. Contact us by email or through the "Report a problem" page before litigation where practical.
